Amplicity raises around USD 1 million in seed funding

Amplicity, a Singapore-headquartered energy technology company, has closed a USD 1.01 million seed round backed by Loyal VC. The company develops technology that enables data centers and industrial facilities to generate value from existing backup batteries without compromising their emergency power requirements.

Its platform identifies battery capacity available beyond a site’s required backup reserve. It then manages that capacity to reduce peak electricity demand, lower power costs, and potentially generate revenue through participation in electricity markets.

Amplicity also provides optimization services for operational battery energy storage systems and supports new installations where additional storage capacity is economically viable.

The company estimates that Singapore’s data centers have approximately 160 megawatt-hours of installed backup battery capacity, although not all of it is available for flexible use. Amplicity said its technology could help operators utilize part of that capacity while maintaining emergency reserve requirements.
